I know that but when i looked the same mosfet at digikey.com, its showing drain to source voltage = 20V. My concern is does this 20V have to do anything with 4.2V battery? Like this 20V is the max voltage which this mosfet can drive from drain to source. Whats your feedback on that?

It's a max voltage rating. 20V is significantly greater than 4.2V, which is what you want.

I am having the same issue and have looked at several Adafruit schematics.
The DMG341x is an N-Type but the symbol is a P-Type.

Can this be clarified please?

DMG341x can be N-type or P-type, depending on the suffix. See https://www.alldatasheet.com/view.jsp?S ... 1&sField=2 for multiple types.

The DMG2305UX I mentioned above is P-type.
