FX Sound board red light will not go off and is not recognis Moderators: adafruit_support_bill, adafruit

When I plug in my very recently purchased (28/12/21) Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board - WAV/OGG Trigger with 16MB Flash, the green light goes on and the red light also goes on and stays on.

It does not show up on the computer as a drive either.

I soldered the headers on for the pcb and tried to upload the demo wav files to the board but when I connected the usb cable the green and red LEDs are on and the computer won’t recognise the board at all. Looking on the online help the red led means that all is not well with the board? I have checked the output voltages on the trigger pins and only 4 of them are showing as having ~3.7v on them. All the others are 0v.

I have tried using a different computer and looked at some of the possible solutions on this forum, however none of them seem to work. Any help or advice the adafruit team could provide would be greatly appreciated.

What voltages do you see on the trigger pins?

Hi there, as per the above post I only get 3.7v on 4 trigger pins all of the others are showing as 0v.

Thank you. That confirms a short somewhere in the VS1000.
