cp2104 to burn 8051 family

Hello,
Is it possible to use the cp2104 to make the 8051 family burner?
also, any avr or pics?

If the 8051 burner uses a USB-to-Serial converter, you can probably use the CP2104.

I don't know about PIC microcontrollers, but AVR microcontrollers use an SPI connection for programming. It's technically possible to fake that with a USB-to-Serial connection, but the transfer rate is like a minute per kilobyte. You might do it when you have absolutely no other choice, but designing a programmer that way by choice would be going for a high score in masochism.
