Anything like a trinket that can natively charge a lipo

by MikeDubbz on Fri Feb 08, 2019 2:48 pm

Like the title says? I'm very pleased with a product I've put together utilizing a Trinket and lipo battery for portable use. However, charging the lipo battery with lipo chargers is not ideal. I'd like to be able to charge the attached lipo battery with the trinket's micro-usb, but I understand that can't be done natively. I've seen the little backpack addon, which would suffice, but it adds a little extra bulk for what I'm trying to make, is there any other microcontroller that is essentially the same as a Trinket, but the micro-usb port can be used to charge an attached lipo battery?

I don't know of anything but you could create a board that would include the charger or go with one of the Feathers.

Feather.
But they're a little bigger -- 0.3 inches wider and 0.8 inches longer.

Then you will have to design your own.

0.3 inches wider and 0.8 inches longer.

Are you sure? I think I see 0.2 wider and 0.6 longer.
ItsyBitsy: 1.4" x 0.7"
Feather: 2.0" x 0.9"

Edit: oops! Trinket: 1.2" x 0.6"
