Low Power MicroController

by DonKrapf on Sun May 12, 2019 8:08 pm

Feather? Teensy? Trinket? I'm looking for the best low power device for my purpose.

I've taken up hydroponics as a hobby. I want to build sensors to monitor temperature, water level, water flow, electrical use, etc.

The sensors will wake up periodically, take a measurement, report it via packet radio (probably RFM69HCW, either onboard or offboard) and go back to sleep.

I would like to power these sensors with a CR2032 and they should last at least a month. Is this possible? Which micro controller is the best choice? Which is the best for low power sleep? They won't need a lot of RAM/Flash/Etc.

Thanks for you help.

Don

If you want really low power take a look at the TrigBoard. We don't sell them but for things like your project they should work well.
