QTPy Input voltage?

Post by professor k »

When using the 5V pin on the QTPy as a voltage input, what is the actual voltage min/max that can be used? Or, in other words, what are the min/max input voltages for the onboard 3v regulator and are there any other components directly connected to the 5v pin that have to be taken into account?

2.5v to 6v

You might want to put a protection diode on it to protect your power source in case you accidently plug in USB with it connected. See https://learn.adafruit.com/assets/95390 to see the protection diode on the USB 5v line.

Thanks for the info Dave.

Diode is already in the design as per the note in the QTPy info page, but good advice. :)
