Gemma m0 - Govee RGBIC strip lights? 12v

Post by JohnBottle »

Hi,

I’ve just got a Gemma m0 - trying to see if it could run 3x pixels of Govee RGBIC 12v strip. The little chips on the lights say ws2811.

I’ve tried (both sides of the strip - incase I’m wiring them backwards).

I’ve tried using the neopixel lib.

Thanks for any help.

Exactly what strip did you get, how did you power them and how did you connect them? Can you post a picture of the connections?

Hi franklin97355 - thank you for your reply!

I am trying to use Govee RGBIC LED Strip Lights. 12v - model: H6127

This is a sample of the strip:

They are not sold as "home dev" or anything - they come with a controller.

I just thought it might be possible to control them with the circuitpython neopixel library.

I do not know if they are not working because either:

1) They are 12v, I have cut them down to just 3 pixels. to try and make them work with 5v
2) They are just not compatible - maybe govee have a unique non-standard way of making the lights work.

I have the GRN, Vout, and A2 pins connected to the strips

Thanks for any help!
