How to drive Samsung 20T202DA2JA VFD Display??

by fbonacic on Wed Aug 03, 2011 8:09 am

Hi!

I would like to use my new Samsung 20T202DA2JA vfd display which I just bought with my standard WinAVR enviroment.
I do have ATmega8 chip with custom made prototype board, which means - I don't have Arduino!

I've seen libraries and examples how to use it with arduino, but I need this for WinAVR. Does anyone have support fot it?
Is it hard to port it from one to another?

Thanks a lot!
Regards
Filip

I see what the problem is. This library and examples are C++ codes, made for C++ compiler.
So there's no use of these library on my avr-gcc compiler :(

I need that code so badly and can't use it :(
Can someone help me translate it ?

Thanks!!

Are you really stuck using C? Your C code ought to run fine with a C++ compiler (avr-g++). The bigger problem for you is that it's an Arduino library and uses all the Arduino-y functions. Seems like you might run out of flash pretty quick using the library as is with an atmega8.
