Flora RIP

Post by powejoh3 »

I was very excited about working with the Flora platform, but when I plugged the device into the Windows box I was working with, I was informed that the usb device had malfunctioned. I tried plugging the device into a hub, using a different usb cable, and also different usb slots on different machines. No love! :( Just out of curiosity, I plugged in the battery pack, and it did not power the device. Did I get a bad unit? If so can I get a replacement? I have several projects I would like to build with the Flora! Everything else I ordered works fantastically! i.e. my raspi!

did you have the power switches flipped on when the battery pack was installed?

No. I flipped the battery pack to on after I plugged it in. I even tried fresh batteries, just in case the ones that Adafruit sent were DOA.

Well. Silly me. The switch on the Flora was not switched to on.
Update. It blinks in the same manner as it does when plugged into usb. What else should I try?
Still gives me the same error message. Sigh.

Is it still saying the device has malfunctioned? Do you have the Flora driver installed?

It will not allow me to install the driver. And yes, it is still saying that it is malfunctioning. Is this a common problem with Windows 7?

Also: Just re-followed the "Getting Started..." instructions. No love! Still says it has malfunctioned, and will not allow me to install or update drivers.
