Difference between ATtiny2313's? Can I use this?

by mikeyp on Wed Jan 30, 2008 4:36 pm

Can anyone tell me the difference between the ATtiny2313V-10PU Limor uses and the ATTINY2313V-10SU I can buy here?
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=getProduct&R=6292205
Are they the same thing and can I use the one I can obtain?
Thanks in advance

Open the attiny's datasheet, scroll down to page 219.
The only difference between SU and PU is the package.
PU is dual in line package, and SU is SO, those little things with tiny leads!
They both work the same, but you have to decide if you can handle a SO chip...

hmm okay i see. Thanks for that :) Looks like I shall keep hunting. I prefer having the option to remove the chip at a later date to use in another project.

some of their parts are US stock only and they charge absurd amounts for them :(
However I've now found the bits I need at rapid electronics :)
Thank you again

ooo can't wait for my spokepov kits to arrive though! I should have ordered a minipov3 at the same time but wasn't thinking when I put in the order. Then I figured it would be more fun to try and source the parts myself and see what I can do (or break knowing my luck) with them...
