ATmega168 programming (arduino-bootloader)

by So-yeon Hyun on Mon Oct 06, 2008 9:15 pm

Hi,
I bought DC Boarduino (Arduino Clone) PCB, and other parts were bought by myself in Korea.
Every parts were same as a DC boarduino kit except "ATmega168".
I didn't know it should be preprogrammed.
Yes, I know I was stupid
The question is that can I program it by myself in Korea?
I don't know what the "arduino-bootloader" is.
There is no time to re-order it.
Please, tell me how to do it.

Thank you for reading this stupid question and I'll desperately wait your answer.

If you have access to a computer with a parallel port, you can use this technique to get your Arduino bootloader programmed: http://www.instructables.com/id/Ghetto-Programming:-Getting-started-with-AVR-micro/

If you have access to one of these

- parallel programmer
- USBtinyISP
- AVR ISP
- AVR ISP MKII

then you can just burn the Arduino bootloader from the Arduino IDE (tools - burn bootloader)

definately have a look here: http://arduino.cc/en/Hacking/Bootloader?from=Main.Bootloader
