Greetings! and Elephant Seals.

Greetings Limor et al,

I am trying to help develop new some new dive tags for the study of marine mammals. These animals do truly amazing things, and they are very difficult to study. The only way to study their behavior in the wild, is by attaching small tags that record the output of various sensors. Depending on the animal, the tag might be recovered, or communicate data via satellite.

I have been looking at the Arduino platform, and initially just want to do something simple: attach an accelerometer and log the data to a USB memory stick. The idea would be to create something as small and low power as possible, (and inexpensive enough for conservation biologists to afford).

I was hoping you might find this an interesting application of the sort of miniature embedded electronics you like to play with and might be able to give me some advice!

Cheers!

Jesse
