Boards Manager (Circuit Playground)

by Rindsu on Thu Sep 22, 2016 6:04 pm

Hello Adafruit!

I purchased the new circuit playground and am super excited to hit the ground running, but I've run into issues trying to get the circuit playground to show up in my boards.

I am following the instructions from here https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... ot-6-x-ide and added https://adafruit.github.io/arduino-board-index/package_adafruit_index.json into the Additional Boards Manager URL under preferences.

The next step is where I run into issues...

When I click on Tools > Board > Board Manager I get an error at the bottom of the box (Error downloading http://downloads.arduino.cc/packages/package_index.json) and my Arduino screen prints a ton of errors (see screenshot). Any chance that a link somewhere along the way got changed and the adafruit.github is not redirecting correctly to the downloads.arduino.cc?

BTW - I am using Arduino 1.6.11.

Thanks so much for your time. Love everything you guys do :)

Lindsay

Get Arduino 1.6.9 instead as 1.6.10 and 1.6.11 are known to have problems. Let us know if that helps.

I downgraded to Arduino 1.6.9 -- unfortunately it's still having the same errors.

It's not Adafruit it is having trouble with but Arduino.cc. Try asking over on their site and see if this is something they know how to fix.
