Arduino IDE ports greyed out with Metro Mini

by davidhunt7 on Wed Sep 28, 2016 11:52 pm

Have a breadboard setup with a Metro Mini and a pressure sensor. Everything was setup on a breadboard and the Metro Mini was programmed about 11 months ago. It was used successfully many times but has been sitting unused now for over several months.

Now when I connect a USB cable between the Metro Mini and my laptop the Arduino IDE has the ports option greyed out. The green ON LED is lit on the the board.

I've installed the VCP drivers from http://www.ftdichip.com/ At first I was running 1.6.12 but I have now installed 1.6.4 to no effect.

Does the computer know when you plug the mini into the computer? Can it see the USB port? Have you tried another known good data cable?
