trouble using gfx fonts with Arduino Uno

by Gaiastellar on Tue Jan 10, 2017 9:27 am

Hi all,

i've got a ssd1306 oled display (128 x 32) which i've hooked up and got working fine, but i'm trying to use the fonts that are included in the adafruit GFX library, and its not working.

Its a small sketch to tell the time from a rtc module and display it on the oled display, and its working fine with the basic font, but when i add the line:

#include "FreeSans12pt7b";

i get the error message on compilation:

"exit status 1
error compiling for board arduino/genuino uno"

i have about 1000 bytes of dynamic memory left so that shouldn't be a problem i dont think...

i'm not sure what the problem is or what i may be doing wrong.

any help would be appreciated.
many thanks

There may be other configuration changes you need to do as described in the guide
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-gfx ... sing-fonts
Good luck.

hi,
thanks..

it says i need to include: #include "FreeMono24pt7b" for example,
but it wont even compile that line - giving me: exit status 1, error compiling for board arduino/genuino uno

ive checked the files are in the right place - it should be able to include it. i'm not sure what this error message means.

thanks
