curibot ir sensors connet

Post by jmrowe »

Hello, I am new to microcontrollers and I am working with my son on building the Curiebot 101. Everything was going fine until we got to the IR sensors and all that I have is two pictures to show how they are connected with no explanations what so ever. There are wires that I did not receive in the kit connected to a breadboard that I do not know how works along with another black little tube like part that I do not have. I feel like I am missing something or not looking in the right place.

Does this picture from the instructions not give you enough detail

If I knew what the black tube like part was it would help. Maybe I can skip it. I am just a little frustrated because I also do not have any connecting wires and I hope that I can pick up these parts locally. I gets a little expensive when you have to buy and ship parts that you don't know you need. Thank you

I have two Sharp GP2Y0D810Z0F Digital Distance Sensors and that is all.
