SD card usage in Adafruit 3.5" 320x480 Color TFT Touchscreen

Post by ricardofma »

Hello

I am using in my project an arduino mega and a Adafruit 3.5" 320x480 Color TFT Touchscreen Breakout.

I am using the 8 bit connection mode and I cannot access the SD card in order to upload pictures to the screen. I am using 8bit mode in order to get speed (SPI is too slow).

I saw in the tutorail that "Its really easy to draw bitmaps. However, this is only supported when talking to the display in SPI mode, not 8-bit mode!".

Is there any way to upload pictures to the screen when using 8 pin connection mode? Can I use 8 bit mode for the screen and SPI to the SD card?
Is an external SD card reader an alternative?

Thanks in advance or your help.

best regards
