Using Audio in to DRV2605L to run an LRA Haptic

by coltdparker on Tue Dec 18, 2018 9:16 am

Hello everyone,
I am trying to convert audio input from a microphone into a haptic output through a DRV2605L haptic driver. I saw that the Adafruit DRV2605L is able to do this but I haven't gotten it to work from the tutorial for the product. The entirety of the tutorial is as follows:
"You can also turn the DRV2605 into an audio-to-vibration driver. Use a 1uF capacitor in series to line level voltage audio into the IN pin, then load up the audio example sketch. If you don't feel anything, try boosting up the source audio volume, it has to be pretty loud!" Here is a link to the page: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-drv2605-haptic-controller-breakout/arduino-code
Has anyone done this or is knowledgeable on the subject? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!

Thanks for the fast reply! This is all we have been able to do from the resources online. We are wondering how we are supposed to plug in the microphone and DRV2605L into the Arduino and how the A2 pin referenced in the code is used in wiring.

Looks like your image link is not working.

To upload directly to the forums, you can use the 'choose file' and 'add the file' buttons below the edit window. there is a 1 meg limit 800x600 is a good size.

Looks like you have connected the output of the mic to the SDA pin instead of the IN pin.
