Using Arduino to run Tiko 3D printer

Is anyone familiar with using Arduino to control a 3d printer?
Has anyone tried to use an Arduino to replace the smarts in a Tiko 3d which is now defunct?
Any thoughts/suggestions where to start?
I am a novice in both the programming and 3d printing worlds.

There are lots of Arduino powered 3D printer projects on the web. You will likely need to make some adjustments to adapt them to the particular motors and drive systems in your existing printer.
