How can i run Adafruit PN532 Shield with UART on an Arduino

by kibi on Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:37 am

Hello,

i work with an Arduino Mega 2560 and the Adafruit PN532 Shield.
I have a library for SPI and IC2.
But i have to run the Adafruit PN532 Shield with UART.
The Adafruit PN532 Shield have this communication.
But i haven't a library for it. Where i can get a library?
Can you please send me an example how i programm this?
And how i connect the Adafruit PN532 Shield with UART on the Arduino Mega 2560?

Best regards

Thomas

Our library does not support UART communication with the PN532. There is one here that does: https://github.com/elechouse/PN532
We have not tested this library to work with our boards.

Ok! And where i have to connect the RX (Pin 16) TX (Pin 17) from the Arduino on the Adafruit PN532 Shield?
This is the Serial 2 from The Arduino.

As I said, we have not tested this. The documentation for the Elechouse version of the library says it works with the breakout board version of the PN532. https://www.adafruit.com/product/364

On the breakout board Tx is the same pin as SDA and Rx is the same as SCL.
