LED Backpack issues

I bought a couple of the 1.2" led backpack displays and am trying to get them working on an Arduino Uno using the I2C serial comm. In short they are not as described and the examples don't work. Examining the boards into which the LED displays are plugged, they are not as pictured in the docs.

After installing various test sketches, they run, but produce just some unpredictable displays. I've updated all the libraries to no avail. It's as though these are new devices and the libraries are not compatible. They are nice, big and bright though. Any help here? Thanks...

Please post some photos showing your soldering and connections.

Oh, and there are no jumpers on these boards to solder and set the hex address... So I can't even tell what the correct address is.

The jumper pads are on the back of the board next to the HT16K33 chip. If you post some photos showing your soldering and connections we can try to diagnose the problems you are seeing.

Not sure where you purchased them, but those are not Adafruit boards. Best to contact the seller for technical support.
