dafruit MP3 Shield to Adafruit 20w Amp

Post by sjw2511 »

I have been using the Adafruit mp3 shield with 3w amp inbuilt

https://www.adafruit.com/product/1788

With some 4w speakers and it works good but the sound isnt quite as rich or deep as I need, so I have ordered the 20W amp breakout

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-20w ... -d-max9744

My question is, can I simply run a 3.5mm jack from the line out of the mp3 shield to the line in on the 20w amp, will that work ok? Considering the audio will have already been amped somewhat by the mp3 shield, or is there a better line out to use from the MP3 shield..
