arduino BT, port instability, internal bluetooth or dongle?

by buggyduino on Sat Sep 13, 2008 4:26 am

I am trying to interface an arduino BT with a lenovo Z61m running vista using the lenovo's internal bluetooth. I have been to upload to and communicate with the arduino BT via the 0011 arduino IDE, but the IDE can never find the com port the arduino is on after rebooting. I have done a lot of tinkering in the vista device manager but have not managed to make things more stable.

My question is, might I be able to create a more stable setup by using a USB bluetooth dongle rather than the lenovo's internal bluetooth? With the right dongle would I be able to use the normal usb drivers to get info to and from the IDE? I would be very grateful for any advice :-)

take a computer internal usb cable
connect correct pin outs for usb com to arduino
and make something like this
http://www.instructables.com/id/IOGear- ... tenna-mod/
and you will be very happy
and you can use this for other things
