PowerBoost 1000 Charger

Post by starfury000 »

PowerBoost 1000 Charger - Rechargeable 5V Lipo USB Boost @ 1A : I ordered
two of these. One has a white battery connector. within seconds of
plugging in a 6600mAh li battery the board heats up the a point of burning
fingers. The PWR light comes on and i dont know what to do. I know you guys
test these before shipping, but i seems this one may have had a deeper issue.
The other one "with a black battery connector" i ordered has no issues.

What part of the board is heating up? Can you post a photo of the problem board?

Your google drive requires a sign-in. Please post the photo here in the forums.
You can use the "Add The File" button under the edit window.
There is a 1 meg size limit. 800x600 generally works best.

Also - please indicate which part of the board is getting hot.

That is the boost converter chip. Is there anything connected to the output of the board when you are testing it?
