Help with a lilypad first use

by mrswanson on Thu Feb 26, 2009 5:22 pm

I have used Diecimilas before and am familiar with uploading, etc... my students and I can't get our new lilypad to accept a program. I have found similar problems in the forums, but nothing is just like ours. When I try to upload a sketch I get:

avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

Here's where we are...

- Using a mac running 10.5.6
- The lilypad is 4-pin and has a atmega168 chip
- It is plugged in to USB with a ft232r Breakout
- It is getting power, the green light flashes progressively faster
- I have the serial port set correctly (it works on the dicimilla) and the board is set for the lilypad. I have also tried it set for the atmega chip with the same results

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance,

Kris

not sure if you found the help you need from sparkfun but one thing about the lilypad is that i think it doesn't reset ont he dtr command from teh arduino ide. This means you need to reset the board manually before downloading a new sketch. anyway hope you got it working :)
