is it possible to use both Vin and 5V in the arduino? is it okay to connect another voltage source to the arduino even if it is connected to a laptop via USB?

is it possible to use both Vin and 5V in the arduino?

That depends on how it is being powered. VIN is connected directly to the DC barrel jack input, and feeds into the on-board 5v voltage regulator.

If you have power connected to the DC input jack, you can draw the un-regulated power from VIN and the regulated 5v from the 5v pin.

If powering only from USB, the 5v regulator is bypassed and you should not try to draw power from VIN.

If you have power connected to both USB and the DC input jack, you can pull power from either pin. The board will automatically select which power source it uses for the processor.

Unfortunately, we do not have an English translation.

do you know how DHT11 works? does it work like LM35 that just converts the output voltage into temp reading?

No, the DHT11 is not an analog sensor like the LM35. It uses a digital interface. We have a library with examples and a tutorial here:

The library implements the communication protocol to read the humidty values. The tutorial in the link above has examples.

Hi, is it possible in any way to make the DHT11 work on an analog pin?

Thanks

Analog pins are capable of operating as digital pins also, so you can specify one of the analog pins as your communication pin when declaring the DHT22 object in your code.
