Recommendations for small run pcb assembly?

Post by mkz77 »

Anybody have any recommendations on cheap pcb assemblers? I need 3 boards assembled. I'm in the US but don't mind shipping internationally.

mkz77, check out ladyada's rundown of PCB manufacturers:

http://www.ladyada.net/library/pcb/manufacturers.html

I would also check out Laen from DorkbotPDX. He does a medium PCB run for exactly this type of order. Highest quality PCBs, American made. More details here:

Just a note, DorkbotPDX is great but they are not USA made, AFAIK they are made in China by Gold Phoenix

Tyler: Laen, quick question, what fab house do you use for the DorkbotPDX orders? Gold Phoenix?

Laen: Gah! No. AmitronCorp. They're made in the US.

I have never used a third party for assembly, but I have heard good things about Advanced Assembly out of Colorado (www.aapcb.com). Maybe others will chime in here.

thanks for your advice tcooper.
actually,i like to keep my costs as low as possible for this build , since everything in north america is expensive. i will get some official quotes from overseas companies here in canada like bittele and myropcb.

I'd like to go with one of them but I am a little concerned because I've never heard of them before and their online quote was much lower than local ones. Has anyone here used them before? thanks

low cost pcb

The problem with this one is that the minium requirement is 100, anyone knows about some place where u can get like 10 done completely? (including assembly and with them providing components and pcb manufacture)

Yup.
(to clarify, it's another company I'm associated with that's using 4pcb.com, not adafruit)

For 10 pcs, I have tried thePCB Turnkey services from http://www.nexpcb.com, it's include PCB manufacture, Components sourcing, and PCB assembly of course , with free-shipping!
Please refer to one of their stories in kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lt ... -platform/

I've used pcb4assemblyhttp://www.pcb4assembly.com several times on my projects and they're in the US and pretty good and very tech savvy with assembly. Decent price for fast turn around. Good luck.
