PN532 NFC/RFID controller breakout board (https://www.adafruit.com/product/364) says that "As of Oct 31, 2014 we updated the PCB design to allow the PN532 to enter low-power mode. The code, pinout, shape, etc are otherwise the same!"
Is there any further information on this? I am running an NFC breakout with an Ardunino Uno that is waiting in a Read state 24/7. Currently I am running off DC power (12V VIN to the Arduino), but I desire the capability of running off a battery backup during power outages. For this case especially, a low power mode would be very helpful to conserve battery.
Is there a way for the PN532 to enter a low power state until an NFC client is within range, and then do a full wake up for further NFC processing?
