Music Maker shields/featherwings and filenames

by yaesen on Mon Aug 06, 2018 5:05 pm

Hello everyone!

I am trying to do a car radio and I wanted to know if the MusicMaker (shield or featherwing) allows to obtain the name of music files on the connected medium (SD card / USB stick), or even better, the content of the ID3 tags for MP3 files?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

you can use the file listing example, but its only for 8.3 names, id3 tags are not supported at this time

Thanks for your answer!

Is this a problem of library, or is it due to the board design? Like, can I bypass the codec chip and explore the SD card through SPI and get the information by myself?

its just the library code - you could absolutely get that data - we just have no examples so you'll be on a quest :)
