Max motor set speed?

Post by DukeNukeIt »

Hello all,

Got a couple of Unipolar servo motors, and I have successfully hooked them up to the Motor Shield. I'm now playing around with the max speed (setSpeed(rpm)) Just what is the max speed these little guys can run? 100 or 1000, or higher?

Thanks,
Dave

it depends almost completely on the motor. the firmware can drive it -very fast- but that doesnt mean the motor likes it :)
i think it would also affect the torque.

Is this a trial and error type thing? Just keep increasing the speed until the motor blows up

I have the motor specs, but I don't know if anything talks specifically about max speed. Max pulse rate is 790 start with 900 slewing. Would this be similar to max speed output from the Motor Shield?

Thanks again,
Dave
