GPS/Data logger prototyping area

Post by sjemmett »

I'm looking at the shield Eagle PCB board schematic for the GPS/logger shield. Parallel to each of the shield header rows is another row to which traces are indicated EXCEPT for the 3 GND cconnections. So, I have two questions: 1) are there really no traces between the header GND and the corresponding prototype area hole and 2) if 1) is true, how do you effect a ground in the prototyping area?

It looks like the ground on the digital side is not connected but the two on the power side are.

Tnx. I'll check the reverse side (forgot that :( ). I can understand the NC on the digital side.

So I just took a look at all the layers in the Eagle board definition on Github. I'm not seeing any traces to any of the grounds. See the picture below. Any ideas?

there's a ground plane, you cannot see it without collpsing the plane. you can always use a multimeter to verify connections!

Franklin. When I go to github, all i see is a board and schematic from about two years ago. Did you find something newer?

Adafruit

I would do a continuity test but I don't yet have the shield. I'll see if there is something else in Eagle I can do to see the ground plane. Tnx
