What version of the IDE and what operating system are you using?

Wire.write() takes either a byte or a string value. If you pass it a larger integer the compiler should automatically truncate it to an 8 bit value.

IDE is 1.8.4 and the operating system is Win 10

Interesting. The PWMServoDriver library is used on many of our shields, wings and breakouts. So far, we have not had any reports of a problem like you are seeing.
