Arduino PowerBoost 500 shield faulty

by Darren20Chew on Sun Jul 08, 2018 10:40 pm

I received a faulty Arduino power boost 500 shield. It is not able to power up my Arduino Uno. I have tested that the battery and Arduino Uno is working fine, and so is my connection. I was rushing for my project and I bought another Powerboost Shield and it is not working. I would like to get a refund for both of my power boost shield. Thank you for your help.

Can you post some pictures of the soldering side so we can take a look? Have you tested the voltage output of the battery and the PowerBoost when it is not connected to the Arduino?

The soldering should be fine and I tested the battery and it is working fine as well.

However, when I connected the Power Boost shield to the battery and tested it out with my DMM. It appears when my DMM is connected to the output at 5v of the power boost board, there is no voltage. I tested this with both the board. So I think there is a fault with the board.

what did you power it with? we test them before shipping...the blue LED should have lit when you plugged in the battery

Hi,

I have only powered the shield with the 3.7V battery. Nothing else.

ok - email support@adafruit for a refund - but whatever you're doing seems to be damaging them, so dont buy any more powerboosts!
