I received a microcontroller with bent pins

Post by snackhustler »

I ordered the Standalone AVR ISP Programmer Shield Kit that came with a blank microcontroller, and unfortunately 6 of the pins are either bent or broken. I'm wondering if I can get a replacement because I can't bend the pins back to their original shape. I've included a picture of the pins.

Those should be easily straightened by placing the chip on the edge of a table and pressing them flat with a pencil or other straight flat object.

The pins were still too short even after I straightened them out, it looks like they were cut. They're not long enough to fit in the zif connector.

Can you please post a picture of the chip now that you have straightened the connections?
