PN532 power problem

by zefux on Mon Feb 11, 2019 11:03 am

Hello!

I need to run my PN532 shield in spi mode, and as soon as i close sel0 and 1 as the print says, the power diode stops showing power to the board. is there anything else i need to do then close sel0 and sel1?

That should be all that's needed. Are you using the supplied jumpers on to the SEL pins?

Can you post a photo of your actual setup showing how you have everything connected.

Try moving power to Vin.

the power diode stops showing power to the board

Do you mean the LED does not come on?

The vin didn´t change anything.

yes my indication of something wrong is that the powerled dosn´t light when in spi, but lights fine when in i2c mode.

Check and make sure this isn't a solder bridge.

it was a little excess flux so nothing conductive, and it changed nothing to remove it.

Check for any other similar shorts since it sounds like some kind of connections issue.

It sounds like you had this working before soldering the SEL jumpers?

What voltages do you get on the 5V and 3v pins when it is powered via Vin?

Oh. Sorry. I gave you some bad info. I was stuck thinking this was an older breakout version (PID 364) but it's the Arduino Shield version (PID 789).

OK, in that case you want to apply power at the 5V pin. The 3V and Vin pins don't go anywhere. They are not used on the shield version. Sorry about that.

Where can I find the schematic and board layout files for the PID789?

It just links to the PID364.

Thank you.
