SD card problem

by gkour on Sun Sep 07, 2008 7:35 pm

I had my GPS shield for about a month now and it was working just fine with a 32MB sd card from my canon point and shoot.

One day the batteries in the minty boost that was powering it went flat while it was working and the card got corrupted.
The PC could not read it. No big deal I thought I just reformatted the card, with FAT16. Now the PC could read and write to the card just fine.

When I put the card back in the shield I got the "Can't open filesys" error I then reformatted the card in two cameras and two PCs, no go.

After a bit of googling somebody in a forum suggested to format the card with disk manager in Management console and not with the standard right click format dialog. I did just that and lo and behold the card works once again.....

So just another thing to try before going for a different card
