2.8" TFT shield SPI pin change

by bfkelly on Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:03 pm

I have one of these shields, purchased through Amazon in October. In this version the SPI is connected to the ICSP connector and all is well. My client purchased two new ones from Digi-Key a couple of weeks ago and they have the SPI connected to pins 11 - 13. Needless to say they didn't work and the client is now confused.
The version from October matches the description on the website, the new ones are the opposite. Shipping two different versions of the same part number is very confusing, especially since the most recently shipped ones are apparently older than the one I bought six months ago.
When I, or my client, buy more of these, is there any way to know what will be shipped. I can't always rely on a client having the equipment, the skill, or the inclination to solder a brand new piece of equipment.
