Adafruit 789 and Arduino Uno WiFi Moderators: adafruit_support_bill, adafruit

I would like to use these together to scan RFID cards and send the results by WiFI to another system. It looks as if this should be possible and the items will work together can someone confirm this?.

I would like to use this combination stand-alone, so no PC. Can it be powered using a 5V adaptor with a mini-USB connector? What current would be taken by this combination (with no extra shields or other items connected)?

I assume that once programmed the Arduino will start up when powered on and can then run stand-alone, is this so?

As you can probably tell, I have no experience using the Arduino (yet).

Hi cjpn,

We don't sell the Arduino Uno WiFi so I'm not familiar with its intricacies.

I would consider using an esp8266 which has built-in WiFi and using that with an RFID reader based on existing projects. There are several out there.
