Music Maker won't play audio with Arduino Mega

Post by alankroenlein »

Greetings,

My Music Maker shield will not play audio when attached to an Arduino Mega. I tried the sample sketches to play mp3 files and to play MIDI. It appears that the Mega is sensing the shield and the sketch seems to be running, it's just that there's no audio. I have done the required soldering to configure the shield to use the ISP header for SPI communication. Is there anything in the sketch that I would need to change? The player_miditest sketch has a note that says that if you're using a Mega, you may need to change the pin to one that SoftwareSerial supports, but it doesn't offer any suggestions. I believe the board is put together and soldered correctly, as I followed the directions in the tutorial.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Alan Kroenlein
