VS1053 MP3 Codec Breakout with Metro M4 Express

I can't get the Metro M4 Express to recognize the VS1053 MP3/AAC/Ogg/MIDI/WAV Codec Breakout board. I know the board is built correctly because I tested it on an Arduino Uno and it worked fine, but I need it to work on the M4. I've followed the wiring instructions found here: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-vs1053-mp3-aac-ogg-midi-wav-play-and-record-codec-tutorial/simple-audio-player-wiring

When I run the code in that tutorial, I get the message:

Adafruit VS1053 Simple Test
Couldn't find VS1053, do you have the right pins defined?

Should I be wiring to different pins on the Metro M4 Express?

Update: I got it working with the Metro M4 Express using the "feather_player" example (I was using the player_simple example initially). Also, I hooked up the SCLK, MOSI, MISO, and RST pins to the hardware SPI pins on the M4. I hope this helps someone out there.
