You cannot power those from the Arduino, You will need a power supply capable of supplying 2 amps at least.

Bill - what does such a power supply look like and how do I wire it? I couldn't find an example.

This 5v @ 2A supply should work with that motor: https://www.adafruit.com/product/276
For better performance, you can use a higher voltage supply like this one: https://www.amazon.com/NorthPada-Portab ... r_1_1_sspa
The maximum voltage the board will handle is 10.8v, so do not use a power supply with a voltage any higher than that.

In either case you would wire this to the "VMOTOR" terminals on the end of the board. https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-drv ... -2224620-2

The barrel plug from the power supply will plug into an adapter like this. Then you can run wires from the screw terminals to the DRV8833 board.

Do pay attention to the polarity. Connecting + to - and - to + will damage the board.

Bill. Where do I connect the negative wires for the power supply. I’ve tried both the - at the end of the motor driver board and the gnd on the board accessible through the breadboard. I think it’s the gnd. Because once I started fiddling with the connector is I got some movement. But it’s stops and starts which feels like a connection issue. Is there any way to determine which of the four wires from the motor should be paired together on the a and b outputs from the driver board? Thank. So close! Parker.

Bill - I soldered the wires together to get a solid connection between the motor wires and the driver board (through the breadboard). the motor moves, but its really twitchy and not strong at all. Any suggestions?

Some of those solder joints do not appear to have flowed well onto the solder pads.

See this guide for some tips on identifying and fixing common soldering problems:
