I just ordered the adafruit motor shield and would like to stack at least two of these an an arduino mega.

I did order the stacking headers and I see the installation of the 4 different strips which places the male ends down and the female ends up.

My question is about the 2x3 header which is mentioned but now shown.

Does this stacking header get installed on the back of the shield (with the female ends pointing down towards the Arduino and the male ends sticking up through the shield)? it seems like that would be the only way that it could interface with the Arduino but I just want to make sure.

Yep, solder it as shown in your photo.

To clarify what the message box here is saying:

If you are stacking nothing but motor shields, you do not need that 2x3 header. The motor shield does not use those pins. It is only important for when/if a shield that *does* use those pins is added into the stack.

Thank you! I am a newbie and wanted to make sure. I figure I'll add it in since I am not sure yet where this project will end up and its better to have it than not.
