I was happy to receive my order of stepper motors and driver shields for Arduino.
I was working through the installation process, soldering the stacking headers in place and next attaching the first stepper motor.
As per the instructions I started with port 2. First the red wire then the yellow wire as shown.
When it came to the green wire I turned the screw down tight but the wire was not held tight.
I was not able to make the screw any tighter. I could revers the turn on the screw but I was not able to remove it from the socket.
I went on to test port 1. The stepper motor test worked fine.
The board is useless without the four pins on port 2.
Help please.
L

Can you post clear closeup photos? Particularly of the clamp piece inside.

I don't see anything amiss. So what happens when you try to clamp the wire? Does the screw stop or does it spin? If it stops, the clamp might be stuck. You might try seeing if you can loosen it by gently prying with a small screwdriver.

Re: Screw in terminal HAT on stepper shield
Thanks Dave
I have turned the screw down with a full sized screw driver. It goes down so far till I can no longer turn it. But the wire is not clamped at all.
I the turn the screw all the up but I can't get it all the way out because it just spins and I can't grasp the head.
Thanks L

Re: Screw in terminal HAT on stepper shield
And it screws all the way down as far as the other screws?

So now the screw just spins. It doesn't turn down at all. Even applying a fair bit of pressure. It does not go down a far as the other screws.

It sounds like something is stripped or jammed.
