are these used to buffer the 13 Digital and 8 analog I/O's. do they come in chips of 4-6-8? what commands turn off the FET's.

Can the logger shield run at 3.3V?adafruit_support_bill wrote:You do want to keep it below 5v. (The absolute max rating for the Atmega is 5.5v). But you can get an Arduino to run on 3.3v, so it would probably be OK running on a single lithium cell. Not sure about the logger though. The on-board 3.3v regulator need some 'headroom' to regulate properly. The other option would be to go with 2 lithium cells and one of these: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1065

The SD card will run on 3.3v. The RTC needs a 5v supply.

5V needed for the DS1307 ?, if it is changed to the 8 pin DS1341 that operates at 1.8-5.5V w/ 2 alarms and 2 interrupt outputs, that would be a good solution for long period low power use, does that sound doable? I ordered one and hope to just exchange it on the logger 1:1 with the 1307 the wire the interrupt from tab 3 to D11 and from tab 7 to D12 Please check this for me... data sheet aT...adafruit_support_bill wrote:The SD card will run on 3.3v. Need 5V for the logger so using 4 AAs (4.6V)...the WDT and AVR sleep program reduces the current to 10-11 ma without the logger connected. Is there a MCU board which connects to the logger that reduces current below 1 ma when in a power down mode?
