Error compiling LED Colorpicker sketch

by peeni waali on Sat Apr 19, 2008 8:55 pm

I'm trying to replicate the LED color picker example, but I'm getting this error when I try to compile colorpicker.pde

22: error: AF_XPort.h: No such file or directory In function 'void setup()':

But the file or directory IS there, I'm looking at it in its little folder within hardware/libraries. Is there something about how the files in AF_XPort need to be organized, or some other simple, likely culprit tor my woes? Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks!

did you place the xport library in the hardware/library subfolder of your arduino install?

Yep, that's where I put it.

The extracted folder had five files in it
AF_XPort.cpp, AF_XPort.cpp~, AF_XPort.h, AF_XPort.h~, and AF_XPort.o. I pasted the sketch first just into the Arduino environment, then saved it as colorpicker.pde in its own folder within the AF_XPort folder.

Looking through other library folders that I know work, I'm seeing others have files called keywords.txt along with the .cpp, .h files etc. Am I missing a file maybe?

Never mind. Everything is exactly the same, except now it works. Whatever....

try changing #include "AF_XPort.h"
to #include <AF_XPort.h>

also try saving the sketch in your sketch folder. saving sketches in the library folder will really confuse the IDE
