Hello,
I thought I'd build my girlfriend a device that will indicate current weather conditions; she asks me too often! My plan is to use the ethernet shield to find weather data, then display the data by having a servo point to a weather condition icon. This is similar to Tom Igoe's air quality meter project. However, his book seems to skip over the basics, which is what I need help with. How do I get the ball rolling??
using ethernet shield to return weather data

That's a very open ended question with little substance to work with. I would get the arduino and the ethernet shield, don't forget to get an xport. Put it all together and play with it a while doing the tutorials and examples. When you run up against something you don't understand ask questions here. Hope this is enough to get you started.

I have an arduino and the ethernet shield, and I have done some of the examples. I'll check out the twitter stuff, but I was originally thinking of using weather.com or something similar to parse the weather data. I guess my main problem is my inability to write code at this point. Thanks for the pointers! If you have any other suggestions, let me know. I'm open to anything.
