Setting IP on Ethernet Shield? Please help

by malc on Thu Sep 04, 2008 9:35 pm

Hi,
I have allowed DHCP to set my IP address up until now. I would like to assign a permanent address.

When I telnet into the setup program, and attempt to enter an IP address, it keeps echoing back (000). I can't figure out what it wants me to do.

Any ideas?

thanks

On a factory default XPort the IP address is 0.0.0.0. When defining it in Setup Mode it prompts you for each octet, one at a time. The number in parentheses is the current value for the octet you are editing.

So if the IP address is you are assigning 172.18.11.190 (for instance) the session will look something like this:

IP Address : (000) 172.(000) 18.(000) 11.(000) 190
