RGB Video Output

Post by TotO »

Hello,

Because some TV got RGB input, do you plane to add a connector to hook up signals before the "video" chip ?
This will fix the NTSC/PAL problem for some and allow a better display.
Else, designing the PCB to plug a 5 pins connector when this chip is not soldered ? (RED, GREEN, BLUE, SYNC, GND)

Thanks.

EDIT :
Best with 7 pins. (RED, GREEN, BLUE, SYNC, AUDIO, VCC, GND)

What's the RBG connector you're taking about exactly? Apart VGA, never saw such thing on North American TVs, the ones I have at least. For sure an NTSC/PAL RGB input would lower cost and remove the need for the AD725. But AFAIK, only European TVs with a SCART interface can dot that. Check out this, one guys made this interface for the Uzebox.

Thank you for the link ! :)

I'm speaking about a "pins array" connector on the PCB, to hook RGB signals to HD15 or DIN8 connector.
Some TV and videoprojectors can handle 15KHz RGB from VGA Input for a best picture display.
And european consumers could play with the Fuzebox without hack, by using an old Sega SMS or Megadrive SCART cable.
