xBee adapter kit: do you need the antenna?

Post by aHao »

My question is simple:
I bought xbee adapter kits (like told in the taw tutorial) but on the pics you have antenna on the receiver. I simply don't have them... Is that normal? Is it necessary?

the antennae is built in, that's normal - not necessary.

Okay thanks. I just wonder why I see all those long black antennas and also wondering where they come from.

You can buy the xbee with a chip antenna, the wire antenna, and two different connectors for external antennas.
