Can a Protrinket attach to xbee adapter natively?

Post by KevinB940 »

Hello support,

Can a Adafruit ProTrinket (PRODUCT ID: 2000) natively attach to an xbee adapter (PRODUCT ID: 126) with the FTDI header?

I am trying to figure out if i can use the two in some sort of native fashion almost like a shield but instead of stacking on top connecting to the end via the FTDI header but without wires and only using pins.

Thanks for the help.

You don't need an FTDI cable to connect just connect RX on the ProTrinket to TX on the adapter and vice versa.

But i would also need to power the xbee adapter so id also need power and ground.

What i was attempting to do was find a smaller arduino than a nano and make something like a xbee shield that could be plugged in with pin headers instead of wires for stability.

The Nano and Pro Trinket are both Uno processors and can be used the same. Both will work with the xbee adapter.
